Rhinoplasty Cost

How much does a rhinoplasty cost?

How much does the perfect nose cost?

The cost of rhinoplasty varies based on multiple factors: the surgeon’s skills, the shape and structure of the nose, the surgeon’s training and experience, and location of the surgeon’s practice. The price of a rhinoplasty also varies depending on the complexity of each case and whether it is a patient’s first or second rhinoplasty. Because of the variable complexities of rhinoplasty, a price cannot be given until your consultation with the surgeon. Rhinoplasty costs usually take into account:

  • Facility/Operating Room Fees: The first hour is generally the most expensive with additional time greatly reduced per hour. Breathing and sinus portions of the surgery are generally covered by insurance. Cosmetic surgery is never covered by insurance.
  • Anesthesia Fee: Usually based on total time in the operating room.
  • Surgeon’s Fee: Varies based on surgeon.

What to look for when choosing a rhinoplasty surgeon:

  • It is highly recommended for perspective candidates to search for a rhinoplasty surgeon who is a board certified facial plastic surgeon (by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery).
  • It is better to choose a facial plastic surgeon when it comes to your nose surgery. A traditional (general) plastic surgeon usually performs surgery on the entire body rather than specializing in a specific area. A facial plastic surgeon understands and is trained in the internal supporting structures as well as the external cosmetic appearance of your nose to a greater extent than general plastic surgeons. It is important to have an attractive nose that still works after your rhinoplasty operation.
  • An unrecognized deviated septum or sinusitis can result in nasal obstruction not present before rhinoplasty. A facial plastic surgeon is extensively trained in the functional structures of the face, including the inside of the nose. Most of Dr. Bennett’s patients are breathing better as soon as one week after surgery.
  • Make sure the doctor performs rhinoplasty on a regular basis.
  • A highly qualified and board-certified surgeon usually requires higher fees.
  • Check accreditation, surgical training and board certifications the surgeon has (a double board certified surgeon  – by the American Board of Facial & Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery – is highly qualified to perform the procedure).

The Rhinoplasty

You should not choose a rhinoplasty surgeon based on price alone. Instead, you need to find a qualified surgeon whose work is in line with your personal aesthetic tastes. Price depends on many factors such as extent of changes made during the rhinoplasty, the surgeon’s experience and training, and the tools and technology used by the surgeon. Dr. Bennett’s goal is to maintain or create a natural looking nose that functions well. He will spend the time with you to evaluate the function of your nose and understand your aesthetic goals. He will not proceed until you are both in agreement on what the final result should be. Read the following article for a detailed explanation of rhinoplasty cost.
